“Why, sir. Do you not know that for a mere twenty-five cents more you can get a large beverage? You know, I’m only telling you this because we’re such good friends. Medium is really for suckers who don’t know the meaning of value.”
So there we were, Buckingham and I, standing at the snack bar at AMC waiting for our apparently ‘best friend’ Bobby to return with our newly purchased popcorn and what do I see on the dry erase board in gigantor letters? “Don’t forget to upsell!” I had to laugh out loud with the thought that (1) someone else along with myself just recently saw Ghost World a zillion years after the rest of the planet or (2) they really believe they are furthering their companys bottom line while instead helping sucker the public into the habit of excessiveness.
And I only wish it was a mere twenty-five cents more to upsize to a large… I got a medium and it was a whole buck more to get a large! I do have to admit though if I had gotten a large it might as well had handles on both sides and wheels, that is how crazy ginormous things are getting these days.
Anyhoo, incase anyone was curious, the movie we saw was Wallace and Gromit – Curse of the Wererabbit. I have enjoyed w & g ever since a friend/fellow oboe player/girl scouter gave me a vhs copy of ‘Where are my Trousers’ for christmas – and that was just about 10 years ago! And who doesn’t like cheese? Crazies that is who. So if you like cheese and rabbits and such, and you aren’t a crazy, make sure to catch that one.
So here we are again, my first post on what seems like my 163rd blog… why can’t I keep up with these things? Its like I have been a bloggin nomad for the past 7 years, wandering the lengths of the internet with my nonsensicle blabberings while sucking the teat of free webspace and image hosting. Well I have finally settled down with my little village on the web, hopefully I can build something out of it. And more than just a mud hut and some crappy pottery.
I realistically know that no one is going to read this but atleast I can save myself $75 an hour of therapy. And I know I ALWAYS am saying “yo, if I had a blog, I would totally write this in it.” And last but not least, I think WWDD – Doogie would blog it like no ones business.
I still need to fix the look and feel but I can’t wait forever! Well… here goes nothing.
